It’s Your Decision

Jesus Loves You!

Hello Everyone!!  I’m so happy to be here with you today.  I want to talk with you about a very important (life changing) matter.  This is going to be one of the most important decisions that you will ever make.  First of all I want to thank you for coming to check this site out.  My hope is that it will make a lasting impression on you.

First off I have to give you a little background about my life before Jesus came into it.  I grew up raised in the church.  We attended every Sunday and on holy days.  I knew who God was, and that he loved me, but I didn’t know it was possible to actually have a relationship with him.  I attended regularly throughout high school, but only because I had to.  I said my prayers at night only my wish lists.

How off base I was.  I started drinking and using drugs at a young age.  The more involved I became in that circle the less important God was in my life.  Sure I would pray to him when I got in trouble, but that was the extent of it.  Then catastrophe struck.  When I was eighteen my dad drank himself to death.  Bitterness and hatred fueled the fire and I dove headlong into active alcoholism/drug addiction.

I was angry at God for taking my dad away when I needed him most.  I couldn’t see how a loving God could do such a thing.  I continued to drink and then my best friend was killed in an alcohol related car wreck. Another friend of mine was paralyzed from the waist down due to alcohol.  Why God!! Why I shouted!!  This fueled the anger all the more.  I continued to drink and use drugs to disguise my feelings of worthlessness, shame, and insecurity.  All in all I made a real mess out of things.

I sensed that there was  something missing.  That something was a somebody and his name is Jesus Christ.  He reached down into the hell that I created and lifted me out!  He is as real as you and me and is very much alive.  My life today I dedicate to him in all that I think, say, and do.  He can do the same for you.  All you have to do is ask him.

We are all eternal creatures.  What I mean by that is when we die that isn’t the end.  We will spend eternity in one of two places.  They are Heaven with God, or Hell with Satan.  Hell is defined as a place without God.  A place where there is no love, peace, joy.  A place of eternal torment.  I was living a similar hell earlier on in my life.  Heaven is a place with God and all that is good, true, and right.  Where we will live in total peace with God himself!  We have to think about this now.  There are no guarantees that you will wake up tomorrow.  There is a sense of urgency in this message.  The choice is yours.  Heaven with God, or Hell with the Devil.

What I have to talk to you about today is God’s saving grace.  Believe it or not we are all sinners!  Romans 3 starting at verse 10 says “No one is righteous-not even one.”  I definitely fall into that category.  I am a sinner saved by God’s grace and by Jesus’ work on the cross.   You see that we all have a sin nature born into us. This put us in bad standing with God.  God is the holiest of holies.  He is perfect in every way.  With that being said he cannot have anything to do with sin.

In old testament times they used to have animal sacrifices to pay for their sins.  That wasn’t enough.  So God,  who loves us with an unfathomable love, stepped in.  He sent his son to die for our sins to make it possible to have a right relationship with him.  Jesus is perfect in every sense of the word.  He knew no sin, but he became sin. Jesus loves you so much that he took upon himself the sins of the entire world.  His sentence was death by crucifixion.

First to be beaten nearly half to death, flogged, all the while they made a mockery of him.  You see dear friend that punishment was meant for us.  He willfully took your death sentence and mine away and made you clean as snow before God!!  It doesn’t end there.  Jesus rose from the dead on the third day!!  You see  Jesus is so powerful that death doesn’t have a hold on him.  He has defeated death and sin.  The devil may try to persuade you by doubt, fear, and countless other ways.  The truth of the matter is that Jesus won!!  All he wants in return is a loving relationship with you.  Will you accept Jesus when he comes and knocks on the door of your heart?

You may be at a place in your life where you feel like nothing is going right.  Everything you do fails.  You may even feel like your life doesn’t matter.  First of all be reassured that Jesus said that we will have trouble in this world. Not to worry Jesus has overcome this world.  He wants to give you life and give you life to the fullest.  If you would like to accept Jesus as your lord and savior.  Then say this short prayer with me.  This is not just merely reading a couple of words, this will be walking by faith.  I honestly want for you to take this seriously.  It is your decision.

Dear Jesus,

I know that the path that I have been walking hasn’t been the straightest.  I know that I have said and did things that were unacceptable to you.  I am at my wits end my Lord, and I choose to turn my life over to your divine care.  I believe that Jesus was born from the Virgin Mary, was crucified and died for my sins, on the third day he rose from the dead.  I also believe in you my Lord!  I pray that you would bring The Holy Spirit to live inside of me to lead and guide me from this moment forth.  Jesus as you were crucified and died on that cross I now allow my old sin life to die as well.  Going on from this day a brand new believer in Christ Jesus!!

My friend if you just prayed that prayer Congratulations!!!  You are now a fellow Christian who from this day forth has the hope (blessed assurance) of heaven.  You are royalty!!  My advice to you is to find a bible based church near you that you can start attending.  Let them know of your new commitment to Jesus and the acceptance of his free gift of salvation.  Please feel free to leave a comment telling us of your new found freedom.  We love success stories here!

  1. Matthew what beautiful posts you have. I love the photos and everything you say. I call that nasty boy, ‘slewfoot’ and flick him off my shoulder with my fingers. Easier said than done sometimes as it is so easy to forget he is there. Like a mosquito, he keeps coming back for more!!! Thank you for being brave and sharing. Not everyone can.
