Integrity – God’s way for your life.

Welcome everyone!!——- Once again I would like to thank all of you for dropping by this blog site.  As always my wishes for you is that you may be richly blessed through the content here, and that you are growing in your personal relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ.  Today I would like to address one question that many people may be hung up on.  It has to do with our daily lives, and our spiritual journey with Jesus.  How do we live for Jesus in a fallen world?  As we all know this world that we live in is sinful.  It is motivated by greed, lust, power, and the like.  At every turn we are subjected to many forms of media trying to get our attention.  They all are pointing to themselves and not to God.  The devil uses these forms of media to draw our attention away from God.

So haw do we live for God in a fallen world?  The answer to that question is integrity.  What is integrity you ask?  It means completeness, soundness, honesty.  To be a man or women of integrity we must follow a set of rules, or in this case commandments, with completeness, soundness, and honesty.  What are the ten commandments?  These are God’s rules for life.  These commandments show us how to live in an imperfect world.  The first time they appeared in the bible was in the book of Exodus 20:1 they are as follows:

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery”

  1. You shall not have no other Gods before me.
  2. You shall not make for yourself an idol
  3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God
  4. Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy
  5. Honor your father and mother
  6. You shall not murder
  7. You shall not commit adultery
  8. You shall not steal
  9. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor
  10. You shall not covet

These are commandments straight from God himself.  Each of these can be expanded upon, and they are very much relevant in today’s world.  The devil in all his hatred does not want us to follow these commands from God, and if you look back through your life you will see that we all have fallen short way short.  God knew we would wouldn’t be able to keep these commands.  That is why he sent Jesus to die for our sins.  Even though we have fallen short, and our sin debt has been paid that doesn’t give us a green light to sin.  We are to especially follow these commandments if we want to be more like Jesus.

It takes daily prayer time and scripture reading to stay in God’s will.  To give our will up for God’s is a great sacrifice sometimes, but God see’s all.  He knows what you are struggling with and what part of your life you are still trying to run.  He wants all of our life.  Remember we were put here to honor God with our lives.  Not to waste our lives on the temporary things of this world.  When we set our eyes on Jesus we will become like Jesus.  The world and everything in it are temporary.  Matthew 6:33 says , “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

By following God’s way through the ten commandments you will suddenly realize that your old sinful self has died, and that God is creating a new you.  When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior there will be a change.  An eternal change that is only made possible by Jesus himself.  Then people say there are no miracles.  It is truly a miracle when one sinner repents and turns their life over to God.  So as we go about today I want to leave you with one final thought.  Reflecting on these commandments from God himself, may make you feel a little uneasy.  Well my friend I am in the same boat is you.  Remember all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  Who are you living for today?  Yourself or your creator?

I hope that this message may spark an interest in you to dive deeper into the ten commandments and their meaning in your life.
