Finding Rest In Jesus

Hello everyone!!  My apologies for the delay in posts.  I have been extremely busy with work, and everything else.  Has any of you heard the news lately?  Why all the anger and hatred?  I thought this was the USA.  The land of the free, and the home of the brave.  Not the land of chaos and unrest.  Is this what our forefathers fought and died for?  Hate crimes are on the rise.  People are being murdered for the color of their skin.  Morality …….. well, there is none.  What is the answer?  Where do we turn?  The last time I checked I believe we all were created in the image of God, by God.  We all bleed the same color.  With all these terrible things happening daily where can we find relief?  Who can we turn to?  We can turn to Jesus!

Matthew 11:28-30    “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

What are you yoked to my friend?  In today’s world it could be a number of things. The demands of a lifestyle (chasing material pleasure).  A certain sin like addiction, adultery, pornography.  Are you being persecuted, or are you being oppressed?   Are you just tired and worn out from running from God?  Don’t run from Him.  Run to Him.  We don’t have to conform to this world and all it’s evils.  We need to decide who’s side we are on.  Are we following Jesus or are we following the devil and all his lies?

Jesus says in John 14:6  ” I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.

As a Christian we must model every aspect of Jesus’s life.  That old adage comes into play.  I know all of you have seen the wristbands with WWJD on them.  It stands for What would Jesus do?  We have to be asking ourselves that same question many times daily.  When situations arise up at home, work, school.  Jesus is the answer to all of our questions.  We are to be slow to anger slow to speak, and abounding in love.  We are to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.  All to many times though we don’t love ourselves.  We are always trying to change what God created.  Why cant we be happy with ourselves?  Jesus is.

I believe that many of those who are rioting, shedding innocent blood, and causing unrest are dominated by fear.  The majority of all anger is fear based..  What are they so afraid of?  Jesus said in John 16:33 “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart!  I have overcome the world.”  When people finally get that we are all sinners saved only by God’s grace, and that no one person is better than another then and only then can they truly repent for the sin’s they have committed.  Every one of us deserves a death sentence.  The one Jesus took upon himself for you and for me.

The apostle Paul wrote in the book of Galatians 5:19-26 ” The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealously, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.  I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

These are the things that this world promotes!  These are the things that the devil wants you to get wrapped into, and they are happening all the time.  This what is happening in the USA today.  We must all repent of our sins and ask God for forgiveness before it is too late.  It is time to surrender our life and our will to God.  Who do we think we are anyway?

There is good news though.  The apostle Paul goes on to tell us how we should act.—(But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.  Against such things there is no law.  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with it’s passions and desires.  Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.  Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.)

By developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ you will begin to see the fruits of the Spirit.  Anger will be replaced with joy.  Hatred will be replaced with goodness.  Fits of rage will be replaced with gentleness and self control.  Ask the Holy Spirit into your heart to lead and guide you into knowing and following Jesus.  I don’t know about you, but I want to live forever with Jesus in Heaven.  This world is only temporary.  All the things in this world will fade away, but a life lived for Jesus wont.  When I surrendered to Jesus it was as if a great burden was lifted from me.  Finally I didn’t have to shoulder everything on my own.  I didn’t have to keep making the same mistakes over and over again.  By following Jesus your life will take on a whole new meaning.  What are you afraid of?  He promises to never leave you or forsake you.

When you are going through trials He is right there with you.  When you are celebrating victories in your life He is right there with you.  You will finally be able to understand what true peace is. I wont go one minute in this life without Him!!  I Love You my Lord Jesus!!  Thank You for everything!  All things come from you!

If you haven’t decided to give your life to Jesus, or aren’t sure how.  Go to the “It’s Your Decision” page of this website.  There I will walk you through the glorious steps of giving your life to Jesus!   This will be the most important decision that you will ever make.  My prayer is that all will come to know Jesus by developing a personal relationship with Him!

Jesus Loves You!
