Hello everyone! I am so glad to see that you have made it here once again. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is good isn’t he? No matter where you are in your life. No matter what the problem or situation you are facing right now. Jesus is always there to lead, guide, and strengthen us. W hen Jesus said, ” I will never leave you nor will I forsake you.” He meant it! This is true always even when we are tempted to sin. He is there and will provide a way out. When you are feeling all alone, and you think no one cares. He cares, and you are never alone. This is huge when you realize exactly what it means. Jesus is God. When God is on your side who can be against you? The devil? He has been beaten already by the cross at Calvary! Amen!!
Today’s post is number 9 in a 10 part series dealing with The Ten Commandments. We have been going through them one by one, expanding upon them, and seeing how they apply in our everyday lives. You will see that something that was written approximately 3462 years ago is totally relevant today.
Commandment 9 – You shall not give false testimony.
This commandment has to do with lying. Giving false testimony means lying in court. God knew that Israel (His chosen people) could not survive unless it’s system of justice was incorruptible. We should be honest in our private dealings as well as our public statements. In either case, we “give false testimony” by leaving something out of the story, telling a half truth, twisting the facts, or inventing a falsehood. God warns us against deception. Even though deception is a way of life of many people, God’s people must not give into it. In Matthew 12:36 Jesus said,” Everyone will have to give an account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.”
By this definition, I believe that everybody who has been born has broken this commandment. God loves truth, balanced scales, honesty. Deception has nothing to do with truth or honesty. I tend to live by this saying ,” If you are not an eyewitness you are a false witness.” We cant just make things up and expect things to go smoothly. Another statement that I live by that was taught to me as a little boy from my mother is : “Honesty is the best policy.” No matter what always tell the truth. Even if it means trouble.
If you are honest with yourself, I would bet that you can find many occasions throughout any given day where you are others around you are struggling with this commandment. Just remember what I said about telling the truth no matter what. Jesus will be there for you always and forever. We are striving to be more and more like Him everyday. If you have any question about something if it is wrong or right ask yourself if Jesus would be doing it or not. Pray about it, ask for His direction, and he will give it to you. “Knock and the door will be opened for you.” “Seek and you shall find.”
I want to Thank You for visiting once again, and look forward to having you here again!
May God Bless You Richly————————————————–Your Brother in Christ—————————————————————–Matthew J. Leiker
