Hello everyone!! First and foremost I would like to thank you for visiting this site once again. As always my prayer is that you would come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you have already decided to follow Jesus my prayer is that you would continue to develop and grow in your relationship with him. If you look around on this site you will find posts that will help you in that area.
As you know we have been taking a look at the Ten Commandments and expanding upon them. We are seeing how they are relevant to our lives today as they were when God gave them to Moses on Mount Sinai. Today we are at Commandment 6 – You shall not murder. This is a simple Commandment to follow and understand. There are many who unfortunately broke this law.
To understand this Commandment better we first need to know what murder is. Murder – The unlawful and malicious or premeditated killing of a person. To spoil, mar, etc… Ok, I think we can all agree that murder is not only wrong it is way wrong. I believe that God created all life. He has all authority over it. He is the one and only one who choses who lives and who dies. God gave us life that we may have it to abundance. Those who murder have no regard for human life, nor do they have regard for the one who created life. I believe that they think more highly of themselves than others, and believe that the have the power to decide who lives and who dies.
Think about this closely. We all know that this is a no brainer, but is it? There are people murdering unborn babies everyday. If that doesn’t fit the criteria for murder than what does? It is also legal to do! This is where I get very angry with the country in which I live. I guess if you don’t feel like having a child just make an appointment, right? It says it right here in Exodus 20:13 You shall not murder! This must not mean anything to either the mother, father, or the doctor doing the abortion. Things have gotten very messed up. What gives anyone the right to decide who lives or who dies? God created all of us for a purpose. That unborn child has a destiny. That unborn child is someone with a name. God knew this child as he knew you.
Those in Congress debating back and forth when a child becomes a child have missed the point entirely. At the moment of conception or when they enter the world. Don’t you think we are missing the point? This is a human life we are talking about! No matter when they say it begins. It is legalized murder, and there are many doctors making a lot of money doing it. We all need to pray that all this nonsense ends.
There is more. Have you ever participated in gossip? Have you ever discredited another to tarnish their reputation and make yourself look good? This is a form of murder as well. It is murder by character assignation. This happens all the time. So we really need to take a good hard look at ourselves first before we attempt to judge someone else. Judge not lest you be judged. I believe that it all boils down to the greatest command of all. That we should love our neighbor as we love ourselves! I’m not just talking about loving those who love us back. I’m talking about those who persecute you, say vile things about you, who slander you. Yes, I mean loving your enemies!
We must always model what Jesus did. If we want to live a life of abundance, and free of degradation we must always follow our God. Jesus is God! He has given us a clear picture of what it means to live a blameless life. It is spelled out in scripture, but the only one who is blameless is Jesus himself. We can’t even come close, but he took care of that when he died on the cross for our sins. Thank You for your saving grace! We can take this life he has given us and use it to glorify him. He has given us eyes to see and ears to hear and a voice to proclaim his holy name! We as Christians must be bold. We must take a stand against sin. First in our own lives and then to set an example for those around us. When we see wrong going on around us we need to call it out. This is why I made an example about abortion. I can see no possible good that will come out of the killing of the unborn.
I realize that this post may have stirred up some emotions in you. That is ok. Leave me a comment on this site, and we will talk about them! I want to thank you once again for visiting!
