Having Faith in the Face of Adversity

Hello everybody!  How have you all been these past few weeks?  There has been a lot that has happened since my last post.  This is a very busy time of year for us in the concrete world.  I do have to apologize for the time in between the last post and this one.  I plan to write more frequently.  Thank you for your patience!

What I want to talk to you about today is God’s love, and how that love can pull us through adversity.  Not only His love for you and me, but for His unending love for all things.  In the book of Genesis we see how God created the world and everything in it.  He saw that it was good and it pleased Him.  I cant even imagine what that world would’ve been like (before sin).  I believe it would have been perfect in every way.  I believe it would be Heaven.

Then sin entered the picture and stained humanity.  Starting with Adam and Eve the first man and women God created.  They were created and placed in a beautiful garden called Eden.  God said that they could eat the fruit of any tree in the garden but one.  The Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil they must not eat from it or they will surly die.  This was a command from God.

Then the serpent came and tempted Eve to eat the fruit from the tree that God commanded them not to eat from.  Eve did and so did Adam.  Thus sin was born into the world, and it has been the same ever since.  The devil uses the same tactics today.  He deceives, lies, places doubt and so on.

How is it possible to have faith in the face of adversity?  The devil is out there roaming the Earth.  His only objective is to kill, destroy, and steel as many souls as he can.  If he can trip you up in your walk with Jesus he will, and will use any and all tactics to do it.  If  he cant get to you he will attack someone you know and care about.  He will attack your family.  This is why we need to walk with God closely.  He is our strength and our rock.  He is a lighthouse in the dark.

My family and I have been getting attacked like crazy these past few weeks.  I’m not talking small stuff either.  From one thing to the next.  The devil is out there and he is really making a mess of things.  One thing that I do know is that no matter what happens Jesus is the answer.  I couldn’t have made it through without Him.  Jesus says that we will have trouble in this world, but to take heart He has overcome this world.  He also promises that He will never leave or forsake us!  Thank You Jesus!!

Having faith that God knows exactly what we are going through and that he will provide a way is priceless.  I believe that we are exactly where God wants us to be at this exact time.  He doesn’t make mistakes.  I believe that he allows things to happen so we rely on Him more and more.  He loves us more than we can even imagine.  You may ask yourself why over and over again trying to figure things out on your own, but the end result will be that it is God’s will.

Aside from having many of the troubles that we go through on a daily basis we may also may be experiencing an unusual amount of spiritual warfare.  Being attacked at every turn.  I believe that when this happens you are doing something or a number of things that is good and pleasing to God.  The devil hates this a lot.  I believe this to be true over the past month.  The devil is trying to do everything in his power to get me away from God.

Although the blows were powerful.  My Lord Jesus has all power!  There is nothing in this world that will take me away from serving God.  I hope all of you feel the same way.  We have to remember that what we do here has a direct affect on our eternal future.  A great way to fight the devil is to praise God!! Call upon Him at all times in prayer.  Thank Him always for everything.  When faced with overwhelming opposition don’t think why me?  Ask why not me?  There is nothing that you are going to go through that you and God cant handle together.

So it is safe to say that we will have opposition.  Jesus said it we will have trouble in this world, remember?  When we are living for God we are to expect it.  Like I stated the devil hates it and us.  When God is on your side who can stand against you?  There is absolutely no one or no thing.

When you face trials in your life don’t blame God.  He may be sharpening you.  He may be trying to get your attention.  He may be putting you to the test, but one thing is for certain.  He will also see you through.  If God brings you to it He will get you through it!
